THE EFFECTS OF STRESS ON THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

Jumabaev Aseniyaz Nurniyaz uli , General Practitioner of Medical Association of Kegeyli District

Abstract

Stress is a natural response to challenging or threatening situations, and it can have both positive and negative effects on the body. In the short term, stress can be beneficial as it prepares the body for action and helps us cope with difficult situations. However, chronic or prolonged stress can have negative effects on the immune system, making individuals more susceptible to illness and disease. This article will discuss the ways in which stress can impact the immune system, including reducing the production of white blood cells, leading to inflammation, and altering the functioning of immune cells. It will also explore how unhealthy coping mechanisms can further weaken the immune system. By understanding the relationship between stress and the immune system, individuals can take steps to manage their stress levels and support a strong and healthy immune system.
