The main focus of the research is on the three-layered essence of the flute: first, its material-technological aspect, that is, the material of manufacture, structure and acoustic properties; second, its socio-functional aspect, that is, its place in the way of life of the people, in ceremonies, in the art of maqom; third, its spiritual-symbolic aspect, that is, its symbolic meaning in the philosophy of Sufism and classical Eastern literature.
