Immunitet — organizmning tashqi muhitdan kirib keluvchi infeksion agentlar, toksinlar va begona moddalar ta’siriga qarshi himoya mexanizmlarini ta’minlovchi murakkab biologik tizimdir. Immun tizim hujayraviy va gumoral bo‘g‘inlardan iborat bo‘lib, ularning uyg‘un faoliyati organizm sog‘lomligini saqlashda muhim ahamiyat kasb etadi. Immunitet tug‘ma (nospetsifik) va orttirilgan (spetsifik) turlarga bo‘linadi. Tug‘ma immunitet organizmda tug‘ilgan paytdan mavjud bo‘lsa, orttirilgan immunitet hayot davomida infeksiyalar yoki emlashlar natijasida shakllanadi.
