LEXICAL AND GRAMMATICAL CLASSIFICATION OF THE SUBJECT IN MODERN ENGLISH

This article examines parts of speech as a way of expressing a topic. In addition, the article presents the main methods of expressing grammatical meanings (synthetic methods of affixation, suppletivism, word formation; analytical methods using task words, prepositions and subordinate clauses, compound and modal verbs), as well as the English sentence word order and intonation are discussed.
