Abstract

This article examines the role of authentic materials in developing learners' communicative competence in English language education. The study highlights how authentic texts, audio recordings, videos, and digital resources provide meaningful language input and create opportunities for real-life communication. The article also discusses the relationship between authentic materials and communicative language teaching, emphasizing their contribution to learners’ linguistic, sociolinguistic, and intercultural competence.
