This article examines the linguistic phenomena of synonymy and antonymy in the English language and their importance in communication, stylistics, and lexical semantics. Synonyms and antonyms play a significant role in enriching vocabulary, improving speech expressiveness, and creating semantic relationships between words. The study analyzes the classification of synonyms and antonyms, their functions in literary and academic texts, and their contribution to language development.
