В данной статье исследуется роль женщин Центральной Азии в региональной безопасности и сотрудничестве. Распад Советского Союза привел к значительным политическим и социальным изменениям в Центральной Азии, и роль женщин в регионе изменилась. Участие женщин в региональной безопасности и сотрудничестве получает все большее признание, особенно в областях предотвращения конфликтов, миростроительства и безопасности человека. Тем не менее, женщины в Центральной Азии по-прежнему сталкиваются с серьезными проблемами в своем участии, включая патриархальные взгляды и культурные нормы, ограниченный доступ к ресурсам и руководящим должностям, а также отсутствие признания и поддержки их вклада.
