This article explores the issues of sustainable development and environmental safety in the current legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The concept of sustainable development is based on the principle of ensuring harmony between economic growth, social well-being, and environmental protection. The study analyzes the legal and regulatory framework related to environmental safety, including the protection of citizens' lives and health, the rational use of natural resources, and the prevention of ecological risks. In conclusion, the article outlines Uzbekistan’s achievements and existing challenges in the field of sustainable development and environmental safety, as well as presents recommendations for improving the legal framework.
