Intergenerational digital help is examined as an exchange of knowledge, experience and responsibility. Conceptual comparison distinguishes technical skill from general authority over another person. Assistance, joint action and deciding on someone else’s behalf are treated as different relationships. A matrix covers task definition, explanation, control and the possibility of renegotiating assistance.
