This article provides a scientific analysis of the sequential stages of developing the culturological competence of prospective teachers, along with their corresponding criteria and indicators. Four stages — reproductive, conscious-practical, creative-independent, and professional-exemplary — and their inherent criteria and indicators are examined. The possibilities of diagnosing competence development through this system are substantiated from a scientific and practical perspective.
