DISCHARGE PROCESS IN DIELECTRICS

In the process of ionization, positive ions appear between the electrodes and move towards the cathode. Due to the difference in mobility of electrons and ions, during the movement of the electron beam to the anode, the positive ions remain in the place where they appeared. It is known that due to many ionizers in nature (space particles, radioactive radiation, ultraviolet radiation of the sun), free electrons continuously appear between the electrodes. A continuous avalanche of electrons occurs under the influence of the voltage placed between the electrodes
