This article highlights the problem and relevance of developing historical thinking in future history teachers at higher pedagogical education institutions. It reveals the scientific and theoretical essence of the cognitive, axiological, and practical-activity components of historical thinking. The article also analyzes ways of integrating problem-based educational technologies, digital tools, the hermeneutic approach, and a cognitive collaborative environment into the teaching process in order to develop students’ analytical and critical thinking.
