This article analyzes the current issues of improving the teaching of music-theoretical subjects in the context of the credit-module system. The pedagogical possibilities of the credit-module system in developing theoretical knowledge, musical thinking and professional competencies of students studying in the field of music education are highlighted. The importance of effective organization of independent learning, the use of modern pedagogical technologies and interactive methods in teaching music-theoretical subjects is also revealed.
