This article provides a brief tour of the history of the emergence of the historical drama genre in Uzbek literary studies and the literary genesis of historical dramas created in this genre. It also provides a brief analysis of Usmon Quchqor’s poetic historical drama, Imom Buxoriy, written during the years of independence.
