PECULIARITIES OF THE NATIONAL LEGISLATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN ON MIGRATION

Abstract

In the article, the scope of the work carried out on the regulation of migration processes in the Republic of Uzbekistan and its legal basis were studied in recent years, and proposals were put forward regarding the prospects for the development of legislation in the field of migration.

According to the data from the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as of January-June 2024, the permanent population of our country is 37,134,200 people. During this period, the number of people who emigrated from our country to foreign countries for permanent residence was 5,066, while the number of citizens who immigrated to our country for permanent residence was 1,080. It can be seen that our country holds the status of a migrant-exporting country.

According to the data from the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment Relations, the number of labor resources is 19,724,906 thousand people. Of these, the economically active population is 15,041,970 million people, and the number of people in need of employment is 1,024,069 million. It is also noted that the number of economically inactive people is 4,682,936 million.

Russia is working with the country’s internal political forces to prevent the situation in Afghanistan from deteriorating further. This was reported by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the news agency RIA Novosti, "The situation in the region remains complicated. Unfortunately, in some areas, the situation is deteriorating. Russia is taking a series of steps, including cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and working with the political forces within Afghanistan. We primarily maintain contact with the official government, in compliance with legal norms. We are also making multilateral diplomatic efforts. We are monitoring the developments in the region with caution and concern," Zakharova emphasized during the briefing.
