Abstract

This article discusses the significance of incorporating features in foreign language teaching that are not present in the native language of learners. It explores how exposure to unfamiliar sounds, grammar structures, vocabulary, cultural nuances, and pragmatic aspects can enhance language acquisition and proficiency. The article emphasizes the role of these unique features in broadening learners' linguistic and cultural horizons, promoting effective communication, and fostering a deeper understanding of the target language and culture. By embracing the unfamiliar aspects of a foreign language, educators can create immersive and enriching learning experiences that facilitate language learning and intercultural competence.
