Chronic pyelonephritis is a persistent kidney infection that affects children, causing numerous systemic consequences. Although often overlooked, the oral cavity is also impacted by this condition. Research indicates that children with chronic pyelonephritis may experience several changes in their oral health, including dental caries, gingivitis, enamel defects, and a higher prevalence of oral infections. Understanding these oral manifestations is crucial for healthcare providers to effectively manage and prevent complications in these young patients.
